For this interview, we got together with Jamie from the Renovated Roost. She has an epic home decor Instagram account that we really liked. She doesn’t have a blog yet but we are hoping that this interview will inspire her to get one 😉. She is a really talented home decorator and her home looks like it came straight out of a farmhouse wonderland. Check out her answers and her amazing interior shots:

1. How many years have you been blogging?

I’ve always been interested in interior design and decorating. I’ve been honing my skills since 2015.

I’m all about trying to make myself and my little world better. I fail more than I succeed, but I never stop trying. Yesterday, I started a new chapter of self-improvement, and I’m super excited about it! I hope to share it with you in my stories soon! Right now, I’m off to catch up on laundry. Scroll back a bit on my feed to see my very quick laundry room makeover! . . . #laundryroommakeover #laundryroom #laundryroomdecor #laundry #laundryday #selfimprovement #bettereveryday #createeveryday #paintedcabinets #shiplap #cabinethardware #whitecabinets #decorationforallseasons #decorbetweentheseasons #lightandbrighttuesday #showusyourdecor #styleitupdesign #mydailydwelling #iloveallwhiteeverything #freshandnewdecor #whitespaceswelove #simplywhiteandbright #mydwellingspace #creatingmyhome #yoursimplestyle #thedesigntwinslove

5. What kind of lighting do you have set up for your work?

I use natural lighting for photographing. I use a mixture of ceiling lights, ceiling fans, and lamps in my decor.

My favorite lamp is from Target. It’s a black floor lamp with a round white shade and a swing arm.

7. What is the greatest tip that you could give to our readers?

My greatest tip for interior decorating is to make your home reflect who you are. What makes you comfortable? What colors make you happy? Don’t fear to take your time to find the right pieces.

8. What is the hardest thing about interior design?

For me, the hardest part of interior design is that I love so many styles. It’s a blessing and a curse when you find beauty in everything. Haha! I will find items of different styles that I love and try to put them together but they don’t always work!

I spent most of yesterday sick on the couch along with my sick little boy. Looks like back to school brings back to germs! 😷 I’m feeling better today, but he’s not. So, I’ll be snugging him most of the day and brainstorming some upcoming projects! For some reason fall gives me all the DIY feels! 🔨🧰🎨 . . 9. If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently?

If I had to do it all over again, I would do more. I would do more DIY projects. I would learn to build furniture. But I’m not done yet, so I plan on doing those things!
