Sarah’s blog started off by being a recipe box and continued to be much more than that, a mom, a truth seeker, and an influencer. with her 5 kids and her many jobs, we get to see how she does it all. In this mom blog interview, we get to see how Sarah from Cook with 5 Kids, conducts her day to day life and does an awesome job at that.

1. How many years have you been blogging?

I have been blogging for 9 years.

2. What is your favorite mom-blog project that you’ve ever done?

I have done so many projects in my life that it is impossible to choose a favorite.

3. Which project are you most proud of?

One of the projects I am most proud of is the Neighbor’s Table project in conjunction with Nextdoor, Walmart, and Real Simple.

A little background on the project: Sarah Harmeyer and her Dad, Lee, created the Neighbor’s Tables. Each table is handcrafted by Lee and finished by Sarah. Sarah moved to Dallas, TX in 2010 without knowing anyone. Her Dad made the first outdoor gathering table and Sarah invited everyone in her community by invitation on the Nextdoor website. Sarah was shocked when 91 people showed up to enjoy dinner with her. and I’m sure she has changed their life forever.

4. What are some of your favorite activities during the day?

During the day I am quite busy. I teach, run a school lunch program, and manage my large family. Every day is very busy!

5. What is the greatest tip that you could give to other moms?

My best trip for other Moms is to enjoy each moment. Your kids are only young for a short amount of time. Take the hugs, read them stories, and cherish the moments of their young lives.

6. What is the hardest thing about blogging and being a mom?

The hardest thing about blogging is that I do not have enough time to devote to it. I have so many other demands in my life and I try to make as much time as I can for all the things I need to do.

7. What advice for life can you give our mom readers?

My advice for other Moms is to trust your instincts. Moms have the best instincts, and you need to trust them. If you think your child might be sick, go to the doctor. If you think there is something weird going on with your child, you are probably right!

8. You are a mom and an established blogger. If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently?

If I had to do it all over again I would have taken blogging more seriously right from the start. I started my blog as an online recipe box and I did not realize anyone would ever read it!
